The breaker

In one sentence

An origin zone that failed: price went through it, and it is then retested from the other side.

zone broken then retested from the other side = breaker
Crossed, then approached from the other side: the zone changed camps.

In detail

An Order Block that was meant to hold but which price crossed does not vanish from the chart. If it is then retested from below when it was a bullish zone — or the reverse — it is called a breaker.

The idea: the zone changed sides. What served as a floor is now approached as a ceiling, and vice versa.

It is a second-order reading: you first need an identified zone, then its break, then its retest. Three conditions, in that order.

Breaker and Order Block

Order Block

A still-valid origin zone, approached in its initial direction.

Breaker

The same zone after being crossed, approached from the other side.

The classic mistake

Calling every broken zone a breaker. Without the retest from the other side, there is only an invalidated zone.
